Tensions escalated in the Itham Moirangpurel area of Imphal East, Manipur, as the Bihar Regiment detained a village volunteer amidst suspected Kuki militant gunfire. The incident sparked anxiety and raised concerns among local residents.
Earlier today, suspected Kuki militants intermittently opened fire from the Bonyang and Kamu sides towards the Itham Moirangpurel area. The gunfire created a sense of unease and insecurity among the inhabitants, prompting increased security measures in the vicinity.
