Armed group, Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCPM) today alleges that huge amount of fund mean for installing machine for digitization of archival material has been misappropriated by the Director of Arts and Culture, Govt. of Manipur. In a press communiqué, the outfit said that, when the Director Dr. K. Sushila was the Deputy Director of the department, she handed over the work for installation of the machine to the proprietor of Info Trade Service, Lamphel Super Market, PDA Complex, Shop No. 5 identified as Longjam Ajit, on February 4, 2014 by means of black tender. The statement further said that National Archives of India and Government of Manipur had earmark a sum of rupees 13,33,333/- for record digitization. Out of these the National Archive of India sanctioned a sum of rupees 10 lakh and the said amount has been deposited to the personal account of the then deputy director and later withdrawn. The armed group alleged that the amount was misappropriated by installing a machine which is not even worth rupees one lakh. The said Info Trade service owned by Longjam Ajit turn out to be a fake one after the real Info Trade Service clarified that they have not received any amount for the purpose and also clarified that there is no Longjam Ajit Singh who is the proprietor of the said firm.
The MCPM further added that the then deputy director and the present Director Dr.Sushila had given supply work to the fraud proprietor Lonjam Ajit Singh and misappropriated the rupees 13,33,333/- sanction for record digitisation work of Archive materials. The armed group threatened of serious consequences if the director herself and the Longjam Ajit to apologise the people for their misdeed.
