People of the Kuki community who have been taking shelter at KLP Post of Assam Rifles at Moreh, in the aftermath of the intensified combing operation conducted by the combined security forces at various areas of the border town have returned to their respective homes, a report reaching here said. On the other hand, the security forces are facing inconvenience due to the absence of female personnel while conducting operations at Indian border town Moreh.
Security forces intensified the combing operation at Moreh following the killing of Manipur Police SDPO, Ch. Anandkumar by a Kuki militant on October 31 while the officer was inspecting the helipad construction at Eastern Shine School ground. He was shot at by a sniper. Police have recovered the spot where the militant had fired that killed the Manipur police officer and had also stated that the person involved had also been identified, however, the house that the militant used for firing the gun was empty when security forces conducted a search operation.
Since the operation began many suspected cadres have been arrested and some of the suspected training undesignated camps were also found empty. The SF however arrested 32 Myanmar National of which 10 are reported to be cadre of armed militant group and later 7 suspected cadres of an armed group was also arrested yesterday along with explosives and ammunitions. The 7 cadres were reportedly brought to Imphal by a chopper.
Meanwhile, the combined Security Forces continue operations at various places in Moreh as well as in the periphery areas of Moreh.
