23rd Foundation Day of AJWJU

The All Jiribam Working Journalists’ Union (AJWJU) in Jiribam District celebrated its 23rd Foundation Day today at the AJWJU conference hall.
Distinguished guests present at the event include Md Achab Uddin, MLA Jiribam; N. Budhachandra Singh, Social Activist, Jiribam; A. Ghanashyam Sharma, SP Jiribam; Bijoy Kakchingtabam, President of the All Manipur Working Journalists Union; and Ng. Biswajit Singh, President of the All Jiribam Working Journalists Union, who shared the dais as Presidium members.
This year’s foundation day function differed from previous years, with a simplified observance due to the current situation in Manipur. It saw the participation of a select few invitees from civil society organizations in Jiribam and former members of AJWJU.
H. Bikramjit Singh, General Secretary of AJWJU, delivered the welcome and keynote address during the event. In his speech, he emphasized the crucial role played by journalists and highlighted the challenges faced by the limited number of media professionals in Jiribam District, especially when covering various events simultaneously. He also appealed for the cooperation of the people of Jiribam.
As part of the program, the All Jiribam Working Journalists’ Union honoured the families and relatives of four departed journalists from Jiribam for their dedicated contributions to the field of journalism in Jiribam.
