Many workers and members of the BJP today resigned from the party and started campaign on War on BJP at a time when Chief Minister N. Biren Singh was in New Delhi to meet the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a day after the all-party meeting at New Delhi.
In a Facebook post Chief Minister N. Biren Singh wrote – “Called on Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah Ji in New Delhi today and briefed about the evolving situation on the ground in Manipur. Under Amit Shah Ji’s close supervision, the State and Central Govt have been able to control the violence to a great extent in the past week. It may be noted that there has been no report of casualties due to the violence since the 13th of June”.
Report said that the Chief Minister was companied by Rajya Sabha MP Sanajoaba, BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra, Speaker Seityabrata.
In his Facebook post, CM Biren said that the Union HM assured that the central government will take all possible steps to maintain peace in Manipur. Further, Amit Shah has also sought the cooperation of every stakeholder in Manipur to ensure that peace prevails in the State.
When Chief Minister is in New Delhi Nandalal Angomcha, Convenor of the ‘War on BJP non-violence campaign committee’, which was formed today said that he along with 40 members of the BJP today resigned from the party as the BJP believes in the party’s ideology – “Nation first, Party second”. He said that the campaign is for the abrogation of the Suspension of Operation signed between the state and Central government with the armed Kuki militants, implementation of the NRC in Manipur, and inclusion of the Meitei/Meetei to the list of Schedule Tribe under the constitution of India.
Nandalal Angomcha happened to be from Heingang Assembly constituency where Chief Minister N. Biren Singh was elected.
Nandalal along with his team also shouted slogans denouncing the demand for a separate administration in Manipur. He said that more and more members of the BJP will be resigning from the party in the coming days.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh went to New Delhi on a Charter flight today morning. As per source, he is expected to return back today evening after meeting the Home Minister.
