Passing out parade at NCC, OTA in Nagpur

Impressive Passing Out Parade (POP) was held at the Chuni Lal Parade Ground of National Cadet Corps Officers Training Academy(OTA) at Kamptee in Nagpur in Maharashtra, in which 258 Associate NCC Officers passed out, on Saturday.
The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Maj Gen Alok Beri, Commandant, National Cadet Corps, OTA. The meritorious Army trainees were Cadet Training Officer Ranvijay Singh, Cadet Training Officer Hemant Singh Thakur and Lt Ganesh Bhatt NS, who won the Director General’s Baton with Commandant’s Gold Medal, Commandant’s Silver Medal & Commandant’s Bronze Medal respectively.
Whereas, Cadet Training Officer Dr Shinto P Mathew, Cadet Training Officer Krishan Kumar and Cadet Training Officer Dr Vinayakan R won the Director General’s Baton with Commandant’s Gold Medal, Commandant’s Silver Medal & Commandant’s Bronze Medal respectively as meritorious Naval Trainees.
The Director General’s Banner for Inter Company Championship was won by Arjun Company. The Parade was commanded by Cadet Training Officer Nandkumar Sadashiv Gaikwad.
The selected professors and teachers from various colleges all over the country,  trained to be commissioned as Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), marched  to the tunes of  “Sare Jahan Se Accha” and ‘‘Kadam – Kadam Badhaye Jaa’’ rendered by the brass band of the Artillery Regimental Centre.  The ceremony was witnessed by a number of service officers, civil dignitaries, school children and NCC Cadets.
The Cadets Training Officers went through a rigorous training program of three months duration, which included Physical Training, Weapon Training, Yoga, Drill, Leadership & Personality Development and a host of other Military, Social Awareness and Disaster Management subjects to empower them to conduct NCC training efficiently in their respective units.
The Reviewing Officer in his address urged the passing out Cadet Training Officers to uphold the aims and objectives of NCC and work towards effective Nation Building, by shaping the young minds.  He called upon all ANOs to serve as role models for the NCC cadets in particular and to the society at large. He also reminded them of their bounden duty to ensure safety and security of NCC cadets during the conduct of Institutional training and Camp training as part of NCC curriculum.  He also expressed his happiness on the high standards of Drill and training displayed by the passing out course and complimented Team OTA for the excellent conduct of training in the Academy.
