KCP Poirei Lup calls 13-hours general strike over illegal regularisation of JNIMS Professors

Imphal, July 18: Kangleipak Communist Party, Poirei Meitei Lup (KCP-Poirei Meitei Lup) has called a state wide general strike for 13-hours starting from 5am of 20 July to 6pm of 20 July over the wrongful regularisation of two professors in the JNIMS, Porompat.
A statement signed by publicity secretary of the banned armed outfit, Malemnganba Meetei alleged that the director of the government-run hospital failed to produce white paper in connection with the controversial appointment of two professors namely Dr L Deben of Physiology Department and Dr M Angouba of Dentistry. The Director-in-Charge of JNIMS produced ‘black paper’ instead of white paper over the regularisation of two professors which was demanded by the outfit.
Presenting the black paper the JNIMS Director-in-Charge is misleading the mass and trying to conceal the corrupt deeds involved in the regularisation of the two doctors, said the outfit.
People involved in activities of media, religion, electricity, water, medical and other emergency services would be exempted from the purview of the general strike, informed the outfit, while adding that the two doctors should be responsible for any consequences of actions taken up by the Operation Mangal of Kangleipak regarding the issue.
