Irate women slap alleged Sharmila’s fiancée

Desmond Coutinho, who claimed himself to be fiancee of Irom Chanu Sharmila was slapped by a group of irate women inside the court complex of JMIC Manipur East. The incident happened at around 2 pm after Irom Chanu Sharmila was taken by a team of police after attending the hearing at the JMIC court. The hearing was however reserved and rescheduled on January 8, 2015.
She was brought by a team of police at around 11 am for appearing at the court. Desmond Cotinho who use claimed to be the boyfriend of Irom Chanu Sharmila also came to the court today. After Sharmila arrived he was allowed to talk with her for a couple of minutes inside the court premises. After te hearing was over when a group of journalists were trying to take comments from Irom Chanu Sharmila regarding the government new decision on IPC section 309, a group of women who were also present inside the court premises called Desmond Coutinho to have some conversation. Report said that Coutinho tried to run away from the place but those women chased and caught him. Blaming him for trying to divert the cause of Irom Chanu Sharmila some women started slapping him. A team of police who intervene the situation took him away in the custody of Lamphel Police.
